The benefits of in-person training courses
Kathryn Clarke, Luna Social commented about the benefits of in-person training courses.
When Kathryn started her business 5 years ago, she signed up for STANTA’s Business Start Up Programme. As part of the support she was offered, she attended our free Business Planning Workshop, where she connected with other business owners also starting out on their self-employment journeys. Since then, she’s maintained close relationships with three other attendees and, despite Leona Fensome, Sarah Fotheringham and Rachel Bailey all being in very different industries to Kathryn, they’ve continued to meet regularly to provide each other with invaluable help and support over the years.
Kathryn said “Starting out in business on your own can be incredible daunting and at times, lonely. Having support from other business owners who are on a similar path, albeit in different sectors, has been hugely beneficial for me. As well as helping with sharing business contacts for practical things such as website builds and business branding, we’ve created a great forum for sharing ideas and giving each other feedback, which has really helped us all grow in confidence. I’ve loved seeing how these ladies have continued to grow their businesses over the years and to think – we would never have met if it hadn’t been for STANTA’s in-person workshop!”
Kathryn now delivers STANTA’s ‘Introduction to Paid Digital Advertising’ workshop, which provides essential support for anyone considering using paid for advertising to grow their business.
