STANTA wins FSB award

At STANTA we are very proud to have won the Community Business Award at the Federation of Small Business’s Awards dinner on June 11. Competition was stiff, with finalists from the charity and business sectors, including another St Albans company, Cheeky Munkey.

Mel Hilbrown, Executive Director, said: “This is the first time STANTA has entered an awards competition, so it’s exciting to have a 100% record! STANTA usually works away quietly in the background – partly because we fund our free services from our own business premises business and do not yet have the funding to expand these. However, in the last 18 months, with the help of three new volunteer directors, Sophie Burnett of PA Business Support, Aarti Parmar of AP Design Branding Marketing and Cathy Phillips, we have relaunched our brand, with a new website and business information resource centre, and launched a series of training courses to add to our free one-to-one business advice for new businesses. We thought it was time to make a bit more noise, and what more appropriate award than the FSB, whose services to small business are so useful, and who lobby so hard for the sector? We are all especially grateful to Cathy who did the hard work on our application, bringing together testimonials from clients and research from our users into a package that satisfied the judges”
