STANTA now has solar power!

STANTA Business Centre commenced a major project in the Summer to fit solar panels to its roof. Over 100 panels have been installed on the roof of the building. It is anticipated that the project will reduce CO2 emissions by 10,436 kg per annum.

Commenting on the project STANTA Executive Director Stephen Bedford said:

“We provide cost-effective, well equipped business units and co-working space for small businesses. Our licensees often have extended working hours and we consume a fair amount of electricity, so are keen to do what we can to reduce our CO2 emissions. Whilst there will be a payback period for this investment it will allow us to control aspects of our operational costs. This is especially important to us given we plough all surplus revenue from our property operations back into our free support for small businesses and startups in the St Albans, Harpenden and surrounding areas. This project should be a ‘win win win’, for the environment, our licensees and small businesses in the local area.”

You can listen to Stephen Bedford, our Executive Director, explain to presenter, Amanda Yorwerth, why and how we installed solar panels on her Environment Matters programme on Mix92.6.
